i.want.to.see.Hamlet.DAMMIT.

i tried to distract myself from the lack of DavidTennantHamlet gorgeousness by doing some work, but now the cat is asleep on my notes.

Alan is moaning for his dinner too, i promised him a chicken casserole tonight. seemed like a good idea this morning, but i can't be bothered now.

but as the cat is still asleep and will not be moved without a flurry of claws. casserole may be a good thing.

Snapefest tonight.

which basically involves fastforwarding through all 5 HP's and stopping only for the Snapey goodness.

there's always the slow motion button too.

excellent.

dog sitting
i'm dog sitting for my parents all this week, which is rather annoying but i agreed to it ages ago.
they've gone on holiday so the lovely mutt needs looking after.

hopefully it'll encourage me to get some work done.

Poor Alan is looking after the kittens all week. he's already called me twice about their food bless him :)

Kitten Spam *lots of pictures*
Some pictures of my lovely new Kittens. They're 5 and a half months old, and named Perdita (Tabby and white) and Hermione (Tortie and white) after characters from 'A Winters Tale'.

why are men so damn messy?
is it so hard for them to put things back when they're done?
AARRGGHH.

very. frustrating. indeed.

i know living with someone isn't easy. but why do i feel like i'm the one making all the compromises?
i do all the cooking, cleaning, washing and tidying. He claims that he would do it if i let him in his own time...but that means leaving the place a festering mess for days until he 'gets around' to doing it. something i'm not prepared to do.
he knows that i'll clean up. so he lets me. but i can't not tidy because i'm a complete OCD clean freak and refuse to live in a dirty house.

meh.

not been here for months.
no excuse, just plain laziness.

Uni is done for another year, can't believe i'll be in my final year when i get back. i'm supposed to have my dissertation topic sorted before i go back in september....hmmm.

Things are going very well with Alan, in fact i've just moved into his flat. A little quick some may say, but it seems to be working out ok :) He had a big operation in may and needed someone to nurse him basically, but now he's back on his feet we've gotten used to the arrangement and we decided that i should stay!

there's so much to do in the flat. i mean, he's been living alone here for nearly 3 years, it's a total mans flat. all this shall change however....i've got the paint samples out and will be blitzing the place in the next few weeks.

I've also decided to get a pet (or maybe two). Alan doesn't have much say in the matter, but he doesn't really seem bothered either way.
so when i've finished painting, i'll be off to the rescue centre to save one or two lovely cats :).
i think i need another female presence in the flat so i can moan about alan to someone when he wont' do the washing up or leaves his underwear on the floor.
talking to myself only makes me sound insane.

a belated happy new year to all.....
well it's about time i added something on here, it feels like years since i last posted.

good news about the cat zafania :)

for those that are interested, i have a new fella. he's rather yummy and is a manager in a faceless chain of bookstores, despite that he's lovely and manages to make me happy (which is a considerable task).
We met in November, and it was rather sickeningly 'love at first sight', the kind of sillyness i don't usually tolerate, but what can you do eh?
His name is ALAN which was instantly one brownie point (at least i won't get in trouble when i call that name out in bed from now on..hehehe), and even more interestingly his middle name is George, after my favourite sheriff of Nottingham. If he had turned out to be named severus and/or snape too.. i may well have died on the spot.

So all is well, christmas and new years were uneventful as per usual. nothing new there.
i hope you are all well

(pictures of the happy couple are available on request!)

xx

bah...
so much work.
dammit.

i'm currently in the process of arranging my fieldwork for next summer, 10 weeks excavating in Texas...yummy.

i think i'll get myself a nice rich texan cowboy while i'm there. he'll probably hate all minorities and non christians, but at least he'll open doors for me and take me dancing.
that's what a girl wants.
i'm willing to overlook the general hatred and ignorance if i get a box of chocolates every now and again....

roll on june.

one exam left...then i'm free.

i'm off to london on wednesday to get my visa from the US embassy. i've got tickets for othello at the globe that day too, it looks like a great production can't wait.

tomorrow i'm seeing tony robinson at the lowry...should be interesting. it was supposed to be an archaeological society trip...but no one else bothered to book tickets! ahh well. nick will just have to sit through all the time team stuff and damn well like it.

countdown to america has started....32 days. (i'm not ready.....i haven't even been shopping for my summer wardrobe yet!)

ahh well back to the revision (aka cleaning my room, browsing the internet and re reading the same paragraph over and over til it becomes a blur and i get bored and go to bed)

two weeks....
Only two weeks of uni left and i can relax for the summer...ahhhhh
they will be a rather hectic two weeks though, i have approximately 7,500 words to write between now and then, and the prospect of a trip to the US embassy to get my visa (which usually consists of them taking the whole day to stamp one piece of paper...grr).

I almost wish i wasn't going to america..there's so much happening over the summer here in the Uk. Book 7 of course, and the ootp premiere (which i reeeeaallly want to go to) Zaphania, you better go, you've got no excuse you jammy thing.
My copy of book 7 is being jetted over to new york as soon as it lands on my parents doorstep, there's no way i'm getting the american version. only problem is not finding out what happens between then and receiving it (which could take a few weeks). meh.

i managed it last time...just. the kids would try and tell me things but i just ran away singing loudly :) Nick has threatened to spoil it by emailing me the full plot. i think i'd actually end things with him if he did....well....maybe not. but i'd be angry for a few weeks.

why is sunday so dull?
it's hailing outside, and blowing a gale.
lovely blue sky though.

i have a mountain of new books to read, which is both a pleasure and a complete pain in the arse at the same time. my lovely university have decided to make the deadline for every single piece of work they've set us this term on the same day, so i'm reading four subjects at once and may be in danger of slipping from anglo saxon mead halls to neolithic farming in mesopotamia in the course of a paragraph.
should be interesting reading for whomever marks it i guess....

hungry, i think i'll go eat. give my brain a rest.

mmmm....who knew Return of the Native could be so sexy???

i will also be hosting an AR marathon, starting in about an hour. (with myself as the only guest)

the mice have been quiet for a few nights, but they're still here the little buggers

it's so cold in my house and the heating is on so i don't know why...raaa.

sooo booored.

i have nothing to do, nowhere to go, and i'm hungry.
spose i could go to asda, but it's cold outside and i don't want to.

i think i've got some fish fingers and a bag of potatos..hmmm...oh and grapes.
but this would mean moving off my arse, going downstairs and cooking something. oh yeah, after scrubbing the entire kitchen to rid it of mouse lurgy.

can't be bothered. i've cleaned the kitchen for the past 4 days and i've not even used it. the other lazy gits can do it.

all i'm doing is trying to avoid work, i admit it.
but i've got a box of pottery sherds on my bed that want drawing by next week and i really HATE pottery drawing. don't get me wrong, i love pottery (even the crappy medieval stuff i have to look forward to for the rest of my life) but not drawing it.
it takes so long! set squares, measuring diameter, copying decoration...meh.
there should be some person i can send it too who loves it, like carbon dating...there must be specialists in pottery drawing, so i don't have to.

if it was some nice bronze age minoan stuff, or maybe african, i wouldn't mind so much,at least it'd be interesting to look at.
BUT NO
it's all medieval crap and some neolithic thrown in just to annoy me. it all looks the same. brown. grey. boring.

only eight more to go...
then i think i'll treat myself to a bit of Snape action
